About Western Australia
..a land of diverse natural beauty & produce..

Western Australia is four times larger than France, and more than five times larger than any other European country. As the largest state in the country, it covers a third of Australia's land area but contains less than a tenth of its population. The city of Perth is one of the most isolated capital cities in the world.

Western Australia is made up of eleven regions each one distinctive in its attractions from pristine white sandy beaches to glorious displays of native wildflowers. One of these regions is the South West of the State - the area surrounding Margaret River – which is rich in natural and man-made attractions. Famous for its wineries and its spectacular rugged coastline it now boasts a number of olive groves, producing first class extra virgin olive oil.

The micro-climate of this area is classic Mediterranean - wet winters and dry sunny summers with cold summer breezes from the Southern Ocean to ensure the fruit is cool and results in maximum flavour development. Handpicking the fruit at the optimal time gives extra virgin oil of the highest quality and flavour. Our pure Castile soaps from Forest Grove Olive Farm are made from their finest extra virgin olive oil.

About Western Australian Beeswax

In Western Australia the beekeeping industry is based largely in the forests of the South West mainly on publicly owned lands. The native species, in particular eucalypts (including karri, jarrah and wandoo) play a crucial role in the bees’ food supply, in a clean unpolluted environment with short mild winters.

Western Australia is unique in that it is relatively free of bee diseases found in other parts of the world. These include Varroa, European Foulbood, Chalkbrood, Noseama and other diseases which beekeepers treat with drugs and chemicals. The unique West Australian environment results in apiary products which are free of pesticides, drugs and chemicals. Strict quarantine controls, which prohibit the entry of certain apiary products into the State, protect an unadulterated industry.
